Issabel Brand Usage Policy
1. Brand Ownership
Issabel is a registered trademark. Its use is regulated to preserve the identity of the project, protect users, and maintain the integrity of the open source community. The name “Issabel,” its logo, and graphic variants are property of the Issabel project.
2. Permitted Uses Without Prior Authorization
The use of the Issabel name and logo is allowed in the following cases:
- Descriptive mentions such as:
- “Based on Issabel”
- “Compatible with Issabel”
- Community participation through blogs, forums, talks, videos, or events.
- Non-commercial educational materials.
- Personal documentation or projects, as long as the logo is not modified and no official affiliation is implied.
Conditions:
- The logo must be used without alteration.
- It must not imply official association, sponsorship, or endorsement without permission.
3. Uses That Require a License
The following uses of the Issabel name or logo require prior licensing (commercial or non-commercial):
- Derivative distributions that use the name “Issabel” in their branding.
- Commercial products, services, or solutions.
- Paid courses, certifications, training, or events.
- Company names, products, or domains including the term “Issabel.”
- Advertising or marketing where Issabel is associated with other brands or services.
4. Use by Certified Individuals
Individuals officially certified by Issabel may:
- Display the Issabel logo and their corresponding digital badge on their website, resume, portfolio, or social networks.
- Share this information freely without additional approval.
Approved versions of digital badges will be listed in Issabel’s official documentation.
5. Use by Official Partners
Official Issabel partners are authorized to:
- Use the Issabel logo and the corresponding partner digital badge on their website, marketing materials, and networks.
- Identify themselves as “Official Issabel Partner” according to the current program.
This right is subject to compliance with the terms of the partner program.
6. Use by Unaffiliated Integrators
Integrators or consultants working with Issabel who are not official partners may use the Issabel logo under the following conditions:
- The logo must not be modified.
- A visible disclaimer must be included on their website or documentation, such as:
“Issabel is a registered trademark. This company is not part of the official Issabel team and does not act as a legal representative of the brand. The services offered are independent and do not imply association, sponsorship, or endorsement by Issabel.”
- The name “Issabel” must not be used as part of the commercial brand, domain name, or product name.
7. Prohibited Uses
It is strictly prohibited to:
- Modify the Issabel logo.
- Use the brand in ways that may mislead about official affiliation.
- Use the name or logo for products or services that violate laws or Issabel community principles.

Please include a description of the intended use, type of organization (commercial or community), and visual examples if applicable.
9. Revocation of Permission
Issabel reserves the right to revoke brand usage permission if a use is found to:
- Be misleading or deceptive.
- Harm the reputation of the brand.
- Violate this policy.
10. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated without prior notice. The most recent version will always be published on Issabel’s official website.
Note on Source Code Licensing
Issabel is an open source project. The use, modification, and redistribution of the source code are governed by its respective free software license (GPLv2 or AGPLv3, depending on the component). This policy applies only to the brand and does not modify any rights granted by the code licenses.
